Default ABS & Tracs Off lights

When driving to work the other day in heavy snow, a fellow driving in an insufficient vehicle (Pontiac I believe) stopped on a rather steep pitch causing all behind him to stop as well and then try and take off up the hill in all of the fresh stuff. Upon reaching the top my Tracs Off and ABS lights came on and I had neither traction control or ABS. Figuring it was a fuse I'd fix it later once I got to work. On the way I stopped to grab some food, restarted the car and the lights were still on, however, pulling out traction control and ABS was back and the lights soon went off. Haven't had the problem return, it's been 5 days.

Could this be a sign of the ABS module going bad?

Probably wouldnt hurt to pull it out and take a look.. I checked mine out the other day, took 10 minutes to remove, 10 minutes to open carefully and 10 minutes to put it back...

10-4. I'll check it out tomorrow if I find the time between skiing and work.
I know how to remove it, but what signs would I be looking for?

You would have to open the module up and look for bad solder joints. Like in post below.
