Default Air Conditioner

I just recently purchased a 1999 Volvo S70 AWD with 136,000 miles. When I turn the vehicle on there are amber lights that flash on the air conditioner control ( I believe it may the air button and the recirculation button ). The AC blows cold air and the automatic climate control works.

What could this be? Is this just a sign that the AC will need to be recharged? Do all the models do this for a few seconds after they start?

Any incite would be great.

Thanks

The lights flashing means there is codes stored in the A/C computer.
Could be many things.

Default ECC Fault

Mine flash and then the A/C won't work. The manual says it's an ECC fault. How do I clear the code? It's a 2000 S70. Thanks.

You need to have the codes pulled to see what they are and what is wrong.

Default Must A/C Codes Be Read by the Dealer?

I use the ODBII code reader at Kragen, and it said there are no codes stored in the system. It seems to only see engine codes. Is it possble for me to pull the codes myself, or do I have to see a dealer?

You need to find someone that can read the climate codes.
