The ideler pulley broke on my volvo and then I noticed the SRS light on my dash board came on. I've fixed the pulley but don't have a clue as to fixing the SRS light. Everything seems connected, just a red light on my panel.

Does your car run, drive, start?

The idler pulley has NOTHING to do with your SRS light. You likely have a bad air bag somewhere.

 

My SRS light came on one day out of the blue, I took it by a local Volvo repair shop and they said it was a sensor in my driver side seat belt. I had the sensor replaced and that solved the problem. The SRS light coming on could have just been random and had nothing to do with your other issue, these volvo's are just so sensitive you may just have to run it by a volvo shop and let them check it out. The car does drive fine. I didn't know if when the pulley broke the belt could have bumped something. I guess i'll have to get it scanned to see whats going on.

 

You are a very blessed person to have your idler roller fail and not damage your motor.

 

I had just came from a good dinner with my family and I didn't make it two parking spaces before it died. Blessed wasn't my first thought, but hind sight. I guess you are right.
