Default Bang! Then a/c goes out

We have a 1998 Volvo S70 glt and while sitting at a traffic light, there was a big bang, and a puff of grey smoke from under the hood.
Now when you turn on the a/c, it just blows with no cold air.
Any ideas?

Something blew up that contains the refrigerent. More than likely an AC hose burst.

The dealer says it was a high pressure hoes. Cost to replace & recharge $583.
What do you think?

Buy your own used hose from eBay and replace, you can always recharge the oil and freon at any AC place,I can almost guarantee you,it won,t cost you over $100.00
