Default Blown Speaker

Hi friends. Among other "small issues" (radio lights, but thanks to this forum I have those instructons! - and I may tackle that project tomorrow) I have a blown speaker it sounds like. Passenger door, to be exact. Question: what size is that speaker? 5" 6" 6.5"? 6x5??? I happen to have a nice pair of Pioneer 200W max 6.5" Would it fit? If not, would they fit anywhere else??

Thank you in advance for any info

Rick

I believe the front doors are 5" speakers.

I believe they are 5 1/4" speakers in the doors. At least the ones in my 850 were and I'm sure they didn't change thr door speakers that much over to the s70's.

Actually I think they are 6"
They are a totally different speaker from the 850.
Also they have a stupid mounting setup making it almost impossible to add an aftermarket speaker.

Yeah, I changed the door speakers in my sons 850 to aftermarket. They fit but I had to monkey with the mounting bolts to make them work.

Careful on that, I thought I had the same problem but it's actually my amp that crackles on the front passenger channel. I don't know how to test it but perhaps someone else will.

Just wanted to bump this up and see how you resolved it. One of my rear speakers actually sounds blown (hideous bass rattle), and I doubt the amp crackle has anything to do with that.

Funny. I've been doing the same thing

I'm motivated to take action now as I might be driving from Chicago to Seattle instead of shipping my car. I really want a new head unit that has an AUX jack, and well, if I'm getting a new head unit the speakers might as well work

BTW, I'm thinking of this one (http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...25&tp=5684) from Crutchfield since it has HD radio, an AUX jack and cheap(er) bluetooth speakerphone option. Recommendations welcome here or in another thread.
