BOV Location
I recently bought a greddy type rs bov for my 98 s70 t-5m andI was wondering where I'm supposed to put it. I originaly thought that it went on the ic pipe that goes over the motor but then I saw a video on youtube where a guy put it on a hose coming from the front of the engine bay. Is this placement ok as well? It's a rubber hose that turns to plastic, he cut the rubber hose and stuck a pipe in it and bolted the bov to the pipe. Also, where does the hose that attaches to the bov go? Does it go to the vaccuum tree by the throtle body? Thanks for any help!
I think a BOV should be close to thethrottle body, but I have seen themon intercoolers, and other intake pipes. I believe thata line goes from the BOVto the intake manifold, but not 100% sure on this. You will also have to block of the stock CVB or itwill be trouble.
Quick Brick Motorsports (QBM) sells a block off plate.

Yes BOV and CBV can run together no problems. I did this and had zero problems, but you can buy a CBV blanking plate from the site linked above.
1. Upper Intercooler pipe, this is a spot to place the BOV. Pipe over over the engine.
2. You can also mount it on the top intercooler rubber hose. IMO not highly recommended as you need to cut the hose and insert a T-adapter pipe and then place the BOV on top of that pipe which goes into each side of the cut hose and needs to be clamped down.
The Upper IC pipe needs to be welded and any welder that can weld Aluminum can do it. I had mine on this spot and it worked fine.
Also a BOV should be placed close to the throttle body, but the mentioned two spots work just fine.
Also the vacuum line from the BOV can go to a vacuum source in the engine bay.

Thanks guys. I hope to receive it in the next couple of days. I ordered the weld-on flange thingy, so I'll try to get someone to weld it for me. Stupid question, am I supposed to cut a hole in the ic piping before welding?
I believe you do cut before welding.
"Yes BOV and CBV can run together no problems. I did this and had zero problems." - I read some where thatthey would notwork together. Learned something new.Anyway, that is cool you can run both, double protection
