Default Brakes:- Rotors and Pads question!!!!

Hi Tech again, I have a question regarding my brakes. I need to have both my pads and rotors replaced; something I 've been putting off for a long time now! I hear sqeeking sounds before which it was just a lot of grinding. Took it to 3 different repair shops and all narrowed to replacing all teh way rounds front rotors w/ pads, rear rotors w/ pads. My question is, what would you recommend for my vehicle (99 s70 awd non turbo). I keep coming across brembo, pbr rotors and slotted rotors. I just don't know much about volvo brake replacement parts and ofcourse the dealer is my last resort. Also what about mintex pads? I guess, I'd like some advice on what to get for my needs which are; less brake dust as possible, long lasting and a good peformance all the way round. I need to do this ASAP as I can tell that it's taking me a while to come to a complete stop and really need to get this fixed. Anybody can reply and tell me your experience with your new rotors and pads and what you prefer or recommend.
I appreciate your help....Thanks!!!!!

There are quite a few threads on this board where people recommend various brake parts. The most consistent problem with anything but OEM is squealing. I have tried aftermarket brake pads and went back to OEM and that's all I use. It gets my wheels dirty, but it stops my car and no squealing. Tech likes the OEM also, but others highly recommend some other brands. Do a search and find what others say. I'm pretty sure REG has some brake recommendations just recently, but I can't remember what he said he has been using for years.

Thanks Jimkw. I wasn't too sure about the OEM pads but I guess they would've have to do for now. And what about the rotors; should I go with the OEM discs for both the front and rear? Who has better prices that you can think of? thanks.

At work we use OEM pads and Brembo rotors. They are cheaper than OEM and work well with the OEM pads.

Tech, thanks for your response. okey quick question; what's the difference in the rotors because I found slotted and/or cross drilled every time I search. Which ones do you think ared better drilled or not?

The drilled stay cooler and release gasses from the pads while braking.
The solids get hotter.

But buy what you want.

Ok Tech. I appreciate you a whole lot you are the "Tha Man". I think I'll go with the OEM pads and perhaps the brembo drilled rotors. Am checking out prices right now.
Thanks a gazillion and keep up the good work.
