Default How much to ask?

I have been asked to sell a car for a good friend. I don't know much about it so thought I'd ask here.

Can anyone give me an idea on how much to ask for in selling it?

1998 Volvo S70 GLT 116,000 miles
Green with Tan leather interior
Power/Heated seats w/memory
Factory AM/FM/cassette/CD player
Moonroof
Alloy wheels
AC/PS/PW/power door locks
telescoping steering wheel
cruise control
ABS brakes
new tires, brakes (pads and rotors)
new front sway bar links
timing belt was done by Volvo dealer at 70,000 mi.
very clean in and out

The number I came up with from my research is $7,500. Is this too much or too little?
Car is located in So. Jersey, near Phila. Anyone interested please contact me via email.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

KenB

Go to Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) and ask whatever you get from the Private Party price. That's always where I start for negotiating on selling or buying. If a car is in very good shape I use between excellent and good as the price. Very rare for a car to be in Excellent condition as they describe it. But it's as good a place as any to start.

i would say add around 1000-1500 to that because i have basically the same exact car just a year older and i saw a white one on carmax going for 10000. start the price up high as u can always drop it.

I'm trying to sell my 98 S70 GLT with 74k miles for $8500 and haven't had too much interest.

Thanks peoples, I was thinking that 7500 might be too much but the car has a couple of minor things that need to be done to make it 100% like an antenna mast and ABS module fix, so I think that if I ask that I can come down to 7k if needed, would probably take 6,800 for it if pressed. Anyone interested?

Thanks for your input.
