Burning Oil?
Alright guys, im new here and i figured someone could help me out. I just purchased a 98 GLT with a toasted turbo. When i bought the car it blew a ton of smoke, and after replacing the turbo it has drastically minimized the amount of smoke, but it is still smoking. You can see oil residue in the actual exhaust, and i am not sure if the exhaust is just so full of oil that it it needs to be cleaned/burned out or what. Assuming that the headgasket and head are good what do you guys think could be the problem?, Thanks for your input, Daryl.
You can drive the car, get it warm, put it in park, pull the oil dip stick out about 6 inches and see if you see smoking coming out of the oil dip stick hole. If so, you should replace the entire PCV system.
edit: I plan on replacing it with this, hopefully its the last thing i need to get this car on the road. Thanks again. - http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exe...category_id/64

Did what you recommended, and sure enough there was a little smoke coming out. There was also a sound of pressure or air being released. I'm not sure if that is normal or not. The smoking has pretty much stopped while driving, and it only seems noticeable at idle. Thanks again, Daryl.
