Default Chech Engine Light/Service Light

I have a 1998 S70 and the check engine light just came on. I've been looking at scan tools to diagnose the problem. I'm also looking for a tool that will turn the service light off as well. Is there a scan tool other than than VCT2000 that can accompish this? And can the ABS system be diagnosed as well through theOBD2, or is that entirly different system?

I'm not completely sure about your diagnostic tool or if it will check the ABS sys. (but I'm pretty sure it will), but when you want to turn off the service light...all you have to do is disconnect the negative battery cable for a minute. If you do that, make sure you have the radio code.

disconnecting the battery will not shut off the service message.

have the codes read at Autozone (sometimes that works), but for a 100% accurate read, you have to go to a dealer or a volvo independant to have them read and erased.
