Default Climate Fan not working

Hi all,

I need help. I have a 1998 S70 T5 and the fan stopped working. I have removed the fan and the resistor. I am not sure how to test the fan outside the car to narrow down the problem. When I measured voltages I found 7 volts going to the motor (when everything was plugged in). There was no change in voltage when I moved the fan slider. I am not sure how to go about testing so any help is appreciated.

Put 12 volts to the fan by connecting a wire from the battery to one side of a prong and the other side to a ground. Hold it tight because if it works it has a LOT of torque and will jump out of your hand.

Thank you...the fan works. I am assuming now that it is the resistor unit. The unit has two connectors...one with 2 wires (voltage 0 on both terminals regardless of fan slider position) and 4 wire connector with 12v at yellow/purple and red/gray connectors regardless of slider. Is my assumption correct or is there something else I should check? I haven't figured out how to measure whether the slider is working.
