Default Continuos Flashing Lights car will not start

My 1998 s70 was running fine. Two nights ago it was cold. According to my neighbor he said he noticed my blinkers front & back were continously blinking. The next day we went to start the car and the battery was dead. I tried to jump start and as soon as it got enough juice the blinkers started blinking again but car would not start. I purchased a new battery and again as soon as I hooked it up my lights began blinking but the car would not start. If anybody can help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
THanks

I am not sure if this has anything to do with the problem but since I purchased the car I have always had trouble with the ignition turning all of the way around depending on the position of the steering wheel. When this happenned I would move the steering wheel until the ignition caught and the car would start.

Sounds like the alarm is stuck on or keeps going off.

Try locking the car and unlocking it to see if the lights stop flashing.
If they do I bet it will start.

I experience a similar problem 2 months ago, plus the car at the same time seem, without electricity ??
When I try to turn on the engine, no reaction. After a while ( aprox 15min), come normal and runs well.
I take the car to service, they fund a "relay" under dashboard (steering wheel) with a bad conecction,
they clean the plug and plugged firmely, no more problem.

I expect this "guide" can help you.

Regards
