coolant level
I have a 1999 S70 AWd. The coolant light came on about one month ago and Iadded some coolant and it was fine. It came on again and I just droped it off at the mechanic to check it out. Going through the my receipts I see that in 12/07 I had the car into Volvo to check the same thing and they did a coolant check and pressure test and found no leaks. At that time they also did the timing belt and water pump etc... The mechanic asked me to call volvo and see if they ever changed the coolant sensor. Any thoughts? ( I did not check to see if the coolant level was actually a low this time I just droped the car off on the way to work). Thanks.

Tech..?
Ok update, my local mechanic said that the water pump was leaking and that there was coolant fluid on the belts including the timing belt and that the water pump should have been replaced when the timing belt was done in 12/07. At the time the car had 65k on it, and apprently Volvo did not do the water pump also. I called Volvo, they told me to bring the car with them and that if the water pump was leaking they would replace it for one hour labor and replace any belts at no charge. I took the car over to Volvo and they just called me. Said water pump is not leaking, and that the water pump is behind the timing belt on this car and that it does not have to come off when the timing belt is changed and since it only had 65; on it they did not change it. Anyway, they said it was the coolant resovior and a hose that was leaking, not the pump. They also said that the timing belt is not wet from coolant fluid and they are not sure how the independent could even see it if it was since there is a cover on it. ALso have a leak in the resovior for the power steering, which was replaced 4 years ago.
