Although it says Volvo coolant only I use Prestone standard stuff with distilled water in a 60/40 mix. Never had problems and the radiator is super clean.

Whatever you use be sure to flush and change it every few years. Oh and NEVER use tap water that contains minerals, flouride, and chlorine.

Use any extended- life, silicate and phosphate free coolant. Standard Prestone or Advance auto parts brand meets these qualifications. Regular Peak brand doesn't- it has silicates in it. (which is bad for aluminum, and the radiator, head, and block on our cars are made from it) Extended- life Peak is fine.

Use a 50-50 mix with DISTILLED water. Minerals in tap water will cause crystals to form, plus they act as an electrolyte, which causes electrolytic corrosion of cooling system parts.
