Cooling Fan Removal

I need a little help getting the cooling fan out on my 1999 S70 GLT. I have a manual, but it is less than stellar. I have everything disconnected, but what appears to be an plastic intercooler connection is preventing me from removing the fan. Next item, should there be some oil in the hose that is on top of the radiator when I removed it? Is my turbo getting some blow by? Car has 181K on it.
