Sometimes there is depends on the company that makes them. I know the OEM ones are like $300.00 or more.

The whole job to replace it with parts & labor was around $350. I'm just curious if it did not in fact contain a new inner joint as stated in a previous post.

Waltrip Volvo in VA will sell them for $150 apiece I believe, OEM Volvo. Aftermarkets are much cheaper, about $80/90 new apiece.

Well the rebuilts usually they do not replace the inner joint parts. Or if something is replaced it is if such cheap parts they go bad fast.

They jacked it up and found a considerable amout of play in between the inner and outer joints. The shop said they would replace it with a new one but if it does not fix it they will charge me labor. They will use a new EMPI joint I believe. Does it sound like something I should do?

If there is any play at all it will cause a vibration.

OEM from Waltrip Volvo is way less than $300. Maybe $300 for the rt and the left total.

You can get aftermarket from FCPGroton for $75 apiece.

If that is actually the cause of the vibration. It could be tie rods bushing, lower control arms, wheel hubs, and the like.

If the car is 10 years old all will need to be replaced.

One other thought, did anyone look to see if you have a bent wheel?

Before you spend any more dough, rotate the tires and see if there is a difference.

I know I've got one wobbly wheel on the right front but I think it vibrates too much for it to be that.
