Default Early Model S70 Performance High Miles

I have a 1998 Volvo S70 GLT with 180k miles on it no horrible engine probs or anything one code for a coolant temp sensor and my oil trap is clogged both of which im currently fixing, i ran into another problem this week with my exhaust. it broke off completely where there is a flange after the Cat where it gets smaller and i was wondering if i can replace the original muffler and that section with a Thrush glass pack straight through pipe. I want to add a little HP, i was also looking into high flow cat's too. Would the straight through pipe cause not enough back pressure or too much to where this would not be the right application and just go with a aftermarket magnaflow or somthing of the sort.

I would like to get some other things done such as the Short Ram air intake, HD turbo control valve.
Would these parts put too much on my old motor?
Thanks again for looking!
And comments and tips are very greatly appreciated.

You can get most of your answers at www.IPDusa.com or http://www.fcpgroton.com/.

To see what condition your motor is in before mods, you may want to have a compression test done before going crazy.
