Default how many miles is to high for a s70 T5?

Ok as you all know im looking for an s70 T5 manual tranny. I found a 99 but its 8 hours away. Well today i came across a 98 T5 manual tranny, dark gray, looks decent by the pics. The only thing is the car has 180k miles. He said he changed timing at 150k and slave cylinder and something else. He doesnt know if the clutch was changed before him though, but said it doesnt slip. Is this considered high for a T5? What kind of price should i offer the guy? He is asking 3k or so. Its only an hour away from me also. He said it has the cloth interior. I didnt know T5 came with cloth interior unless someone did an engine swap on a base model. What do you think?

Run the VIN. It will show you what the car had when new as for the motor. Volvo did give several options with the S70's, trying to boost sales.

As for milage, I would have to say 300+. I would recommend a car inspection and a compression test. The compression test would let you know about the motor condition. You can even do the compression test yourself on the spot. Only takes about 30 minutes.

umm i think the guy is confused, by the pics its a base 5 speed. i could be wrong but i dont see why the wheels would be 15" cloth seats and base interior.

It's always best to run a VIN check. Purchase the unlimited account and run as many as you need to until you purchase a car. We found out that our S70 had the miles rolled back about 40,000 before we purchased it.

as an FYI, my folks have a 98 T5 with 190k on the clock and the thing runs flawlessly....it's had it's fair share of repairs (AC, brakes, etc.) but the drivetrain has been nothing short of spectacular. :thumb:
