Default Early s70 power steering pumps

I posted about these inside a recent thread, but I thought I should perhaps post it in its own thread. I recently purchased a P/P pump from an ebay seller in the US. He is selling them brand new in the box for $25.

I don't know whether they are aftermarket or made by the original supplier. ( I think they volvo pumps are US made anyway ? )

They come with the reservoir but no pulley. The pulley is pretty easy to change if you have even a good quality small screw press. At the price, it wouldn't matter if you have to give someone 10 quid to change them over.

He ships internationally and sent mine to Sydney, Australia. It arrived in 8 days. I think shipping was about $40 US. Total cost delivered was $82 AU which I think is around 50 pounds ?

I fitted it and it's working fine, although I've only done about 3500 klms since.

Incidentally, I also had a slight leak at the right side of the steering rack. I used the Lucas oils addative - the one where they offer a money back guarantee if it doesn't cure the leak. I added the contents of a bottle slowly as the leak continued, but decreased in volume.

They say on the bottle that one bottle usually cures the leak but sometimes a second one is required. It was still leaking a little after the full bottle had been used, but, sure enough half way through a second bottle the leak stopped.

This has likely been reported here before as I see it's offered by volvo parts guys in the UK, but You can add me to the list of guys it has worked for.

If anyone needs a pump, a current auction for one on ebay US is 360305855398
I've been tempted to grab another just for a spare as they are now even cheaper than 2 months ago when I bought mine with the falling greenback. cheers.
