I've yet to try it myself, but it looks like the best way. Little concerned about the part where he pops the trim from the windshield.

Just lift the cover do not pull it from under the windsheild.

That is how I did the one on our S70, however, I did not remove the 3rd screw. Just a note, the filter he replaced looked NEW compared to the one I pulled out of our car...

I agree, no need to remove the 3rd screw. However, after I installed the Volvo strut tower brace on all of my cars this simple process became a bit more difficult as it''s in the way of lifting up the trim cover to get at the filter. It's still doable you just have to be careful lifting the black trim piece up and around the strut brace..

Ok, so I finally got around to changing out the cabin filter and it's probably the easiest thing I've ever done to my car. It can take a little doing/pulling/yanking to get the filter out...but I don't get why people said to cut into the firewall and whatnot.
