Engine light on

I have an S70 and my engine light is on. I've been told by my father in law (previous owner) that it comes on every 5k miles. How do I turn it off? It's a 1998 with 115k miles and in great condition.

Most likely it's a minor issue. Have the codes read. Autozone will do it for you, for free. Check back in with the results.
