Engine stalling troubles
I have a 1998 Volvo s70 and it's recently been giving me a hard time whenever I'm either parked or stopped at a red light. The car keeps stalling and these lights on the dash appear. I went to a auto parts store and they tested my battery and alternator. Battery was good only problem was my alternator failed the Voltage Regulator test the first time but the other two times it passed. Help would be appreciated

do the lights stay off if you keep the engine over 1000 RPM? My guess is the alternator is allowing the system voltage is dropping below 12V and that's messing up the ECU. Have you tried putting a volt meter on it? Do they clear once you restart? The stalling could be due to the low voltage faulting out the computer.

I think while I was at the auto parts store it kept at 13.8 volts but the first time when it failed it was about 12.6 volts. The lights stay off but after driving the car kind of jerks and the up arrow appears and disappears. All the lights go away after I put it in park and turn the car all the way off and restart it. Sometimes it takes 3 tries to get it to actually start up though
