Default A few problems I am having. Please help.

My wife and I have two Volvo's. Mine is a 2000 S70 AWD, my wife's is a 1999 V70 AWD X/C, so they are very similar vehicles. I am having a couple of issues with both vehicles that I am hoping I could get some advice on. I am not a professional mechanic, but I do know quite a bit about medium difficulty repairs. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Problems:

1.) S70 - There is a weird vibration in the car from 15-22mph. It doesnt matter if I'm accelerating, braking, turning, or cruising, it still vibrates in this range. I tried rotating the tires but problem still persists. Any ideas?

2.) V70 - There is a weird sound I hear when driving. It sounds like a whining sound (ex. Wooooooooo). I can hear mainly hear it when I'm driving 20+ mph with my foot off the accelerator and just cruising. When I'm accelerating from a dead stop I cannot hear the sound. Any ideas on what this could be?

3.) V70 - Last question. I just bought this car very recently, and when I bought it the transmission oil was very dark. My assumption was that it has never been changed. I flushed the transmission with 12 quarts of AT fluid. (2 quarts at a time until it looked nice and red). Two weeks later the transmission looks dark again (not nearly as bad as before, but still much darker than red). Is this a bad sign? What do you recommend?

1. Check the balance on the tires.

2. It could be a bad wheel bearing or the tires feathered badly.

3. I have seen when they are really dirty to begin with they need the fluid changed again.

S70, I would check motor mounts, especially the passenger side mount.

Transmission color??? I don't understand why you don't replace it all at the same time??? mixing new with old 2 qts at a time will only make the new dirty.
