Default fitting '98 s70 GLT Radiator to '00 S70 GLT/SE

Hi,

Recently I oredered a Radiator for my 2000 S70 GLT SE from Autopartswarehouse.com, they themselves sent me a '98 GLT Radiator By Mistake. Returning and Getting a new part is a problem for me since I'm a International custmer and it will cost me much more than the radiator price at local store.

So, I decided to fit it to my car somehow.

The Radiators (98 and 2000) have the same sizes and it fits car properly, but there are 2 Problems:

1. there are 2 Hoeses coming from tranny to the radiator for cooling Transmission Fluid. the hose heads differ and i can not connect them directly to the radiator. SO i decided to replace these hoses with simmilar hoses from '98 S70 GLT. connectors on Tranny Side are identical.

2. on the 2000 Models A small pipe comming from Expansion Tank is connected to the radiator. on 98 models it is connected to the Thermostat cover. since my radiator has no a specific hole for a pipe from expansion tank, instead of drilling a hole in the radiator, i decided to replace Thermostat cover with 98 model and connect this pipe there.

so theoritically the problem should be solved, but Can someone assist me with this modification? may be i will damage something doing so ? Please help me ...

Guys can you help me ?!

I worry about connecting this small hose to the thersmostat cover instead connecting it to the radiator. I really don't want to drill a hole in the radiator

So this overflow tube that comes off the side of the expansion tank goes into the radiator? For some reason the guy I bought this car off of has it plugged with a bolt? Do I unplug it and put it to the radiator

It's not an overflow tube. it's a tube which allows air to come out of the engine and/or radiator and get into the tank. The flow is the other way.

it is worthwhile and good to vent the system, so I think it's helpful to have it hooked up correctly. However, if your car is not overheating, that proves you have gotten along okay without it.
