Default Front Oxygen sensor

hi everyone I am new to the site,I have a question.
I suspect that my from sensor is bad,though no code yet,Should I unplug it till I get a new Bosch or leave it on ,I am getting black smoke after I replaced it with an after market

Hi and welcome to the site.

Never replace your O2 sensor with an after market one. Get one from a junk yard or somewhere first. I would not unplug it, just get a replacement.

Thanks but I didn,t know,looking for one online or junk yard,would unplug it get rid of the black smoke.

Un-plugging it might make it worse. I believe the o2 sensors can make the car run rich or lean. Either option is not good. There may be some other reason the car is smoking. When was the last time the PCV was serviced?

I don,t mind the running lean or rich temporarly,what concerns me is the smoke,my smoke is not PCV related that I know for a fact.The car runs sluggish and hesitate at idle when hot.

Like RSPI said I would recommend replacing with real OEM sensor asap. In the meantime you can unplug it though. It will set a code and the ECM will run open-loop meaning it will use default fuel map values; this is likely better than getting incorrect input from your current bad sensor.

Black smoke out the tailpipe is indication of very rich mixture which can cause engine damage.
