Default Front suspension - harsh ride

Hello,

My 1998 S70 T5 has always had a fairly harsh ride since I bought it. Recently I replaced all four shocks/struts, without any change. I recently noticed that the middle part of the front right shock mount moves up and down quite a bit when I open the hood and rock the car, and the left doesn't move that much. Now, I didn't replace the shock mounts. Also, there is a creaking noise from the right shock mount, which went away after I sprayed some lubricant on it.

Any thoughts guys? I'm a little tired of being jolted around, I kind of didn't expect this from a Volvo. Is the suspension on the T5Se harder than that of a N/A S70? I'm running Michelin pilot tires, inflated to 28 psi. (205x50x16)

Thanks

Branse

1. Sounds like you need to replace the mounts.

2. What did you replace the shocks/struts with? OEM?

3. Creaking noise could be the mounts, could be the spring seats I would assume as well.

That will prolly be my next step. But, do the mounts affect the harshness of the ride, and the jolting? I can even live with spraying some lube every couple of weeks, but the hard ride is killing me. (I have 2 little kids)

Yes it will make it ride harder.

But the S70 also doesn't ride like a caddy either.

Oh Gawd!!!

Since the last post many moons ago, I have replaced the strut mounts and changed to Goodyear assurance triple tread 205*55*16. I replaced the strut/rear shocks with OEM, and yet the ride is like a truck.

I really need to change something (springs???? Go with s70 non - turbo springs??)

My wife actually prefers to drive her minivan than the Volvo for comfort's sake.

Any help guys?

I think the turbo and Non-turbo springs are the same.
Not sure what else to tell you.
