Default fuel pump relay

2000 S70 glt, I think I have a weak fuel pump relay, I start it and it dies right away, then try and start it and nothing, then try and start it and it starts fine and runs good. anyone have this happen?

A lot of people. Jump it (the relay) and see what happens.

Jumper the relay to make sure the pump makes pressure at the fuel rail. You can open the schrader valve on the fuel rail and see if it squirts fuel. Alternatively, go through the trunk and pull the connector at the pump and verify that 12V is getting to the pump. Symptoms sound like they could be relay, pump, or pressure regulator to me.

Just went through this on my daughter's S70 (hers is a '99, I think).

Good Luck,

Kirk
