Default How to pull error codes

What is the trick to pull error codes on an S70, or do you have to have a computer? Thanks Pete

You can't read codes on S70s if you don't have a code reader.

Did the car pop a check engine light? (I think this would be a yellow triangle with an exclamation point illuminated in the gauge cluster) If no check engine light, it's unlikely that you'll pull any codes with a scan tool. I assume you're still trying to diagnose the dying and no start issue you had earlier.

If the starter is clicking but won't turn the engine over, try jump starting to see if that fixes the problem. However, if the engine does turn over and start, but the problem is a bad battery and/or a bad alternator, the engine will die again once the jump leads are disconnected. Be cautious as it may take awhile for the engine to drain the battery and die again. So don't be lulled into a false sense of security if you disconnect the jump leads and the engine keeps running. You may only get a mile down the road before it dies again.
