my plastic one broke off, so i think im going to by a aluminum from ipd, good idea? my volvo is a fwd model

I may be wrong but I believe they only sell the one that mounts to the middle section of the subframe. The one that broke of yours should only be the Air guige which protects the radiator,Condensor and intercooler.

Yes but still leaves the radiator unprotected.
I would love one myself but it is quite expensive.
