Well it should be accurate, selling one that wasnt accurate can get people killed. Basically in addition to the hose mountings and all that thier is a another black piece that has a hose connection. So you stick the vac line into that and it reads it and then you connect the wires from that into the gauge.

OK thats not exactly what it looks like but you can get the idea. On the black box you have the the vac line connection and then you ahve the electrical wires running from it to the back of teh gauge. Its a much more complicated setup pictured. But like I said, you can get the idea.

 

So it still looks like you need to run a vaccum line anyways.

Oh well.

 

well teh exact back of it was pictured before, the second pic was to give you an idea for what I am talking about. You run the vac line to sensor in the engine.

I can take a pic of everything i received if you want.

 

hey what blow off valves fit on the s70? with little or no modification

 

There is no blow off valve that is really made to fit Volvo's. I lie, there is one, but IMO I would go for having an HKS SSQV and the Aluminum flange welded to the Aluminum upper IC pipe.

1. DO NOT buy TURBO XS BOV's.

2. Buy an HKS SSQV and have the flange welded onto the Upper IC pipe.

3. If you can't have someone wled a flange look into the only other option. Buy this SAMCO turbo hose seen here...

Again I would suggest going with a Universial HKS SSQV and having the flange welded to your upper IC pipe. Like mine, but mine is a TURBO XS BOV. I know I told you not to go with them. Why do I have one then? Because it was cheap and I didn't know any better. I bought it from a fellow Volvo lover who used it and I bought it cheap. Well they are prone to leaking. I believe mine does.

 

only problem with teh welding is that I dont know any place to ahve it done around here. Its hard enough to find a performance shop to work on my volvo(which i ahve not been able to find)

I'm sure you have a local shop that can weld.

They have to be able to weld Aluminum. If you find a place that can, go that route please. If not go the Viva Performance route that I mentioned above.

 

how much does welding cost?

 

Mine was $60 to have the Aluminum flange welded onto my Upper IC pipe.

I would expect anywhere from $50-$150.

You can buy a Universial HKS SSQV for $160. I forget if this includes the right flange or not. Then another $50-$150 for welding of the flange.

 

what does teh HKS SSQV mean? Also I look on viva perfmance and it seems you cant get just that hose part you pictured? Have to get the entire kit?

 

1. "The HKS Super Sequential Blow-Off Valve (SSQV) is a dual stage pull-type relief valve. Unlike typical push type blow-off valves, the SSQV will not leak under any level of boost because the boost pressure in chamber "C" keeps the valve closed against its seat (Diagram 1). The SSQV releases excess boost when there is a pressure alteration in chambers "A & B", not by the rate of boost pressure or vacuum in the line. This ensures a quick valve response and complete closure during idle. Many competitors use a push-type blow-off valve design with a large valve to accommodate high boost / high horsepower applications. it does say universal, its just has some car types to get more hits
also what would I need to install that? I am not sure if the upper ic is metal on mine
