Default Light Bulb Out Warning Indicator

Hi,

I have a 98' S70. When I hit the brakes, the light bulb out warning indicator comes on briefly, or flickers a few times. It doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it will do it a bunch of times. Other trips it hardly does it at all. It is driving me crazy as you can see it out of the corner of your eye. The car was sitting idle for a year, and I just had the battery replaced and got it back on the road. Any idea what could be causing this? I have had people stand behind the car and they have said that all lights appear to be working.

have you tried putting something on the break pedal to keep the break light on an seeing what the light is actually doing before you think it's something else?

Mine has stayed on steady since I purchased it. EVERY single light on the exterior of the car works as it should, however the driver's side visor and footwell light do not work. I'm thinking it's possible one of your interior lights could be the culprit.

If it happens when braking, it's a brake light bulb. Replace all three. Interior lights do not have any warning light that comes on when they are out.

Someone could have installed an improper bulb. If there is a light in the dash that stays on ALL THE TIME while the lights are on, it is likely the REAR FOG LIGHT switch that is on.
