Locks and remote problem

Locks and remote problem
When I use my remote to lock the car everything works as it should, but when I go to unlock the car with the remote only the rear doors and trunk unlock. The front drivers door has to be manually unlocked with the key. Has anyone ever had this issue and how do I fix it?
By the way it is a 1998 Volvo S70 GLT. Also, out of curiosity what is the difference between the GLT and the SE ?

Not sure about your locks. Does they all lock and unlock with the switch on the door?

The driver's door lock is shot.
It's a common problem.
Volvo wants around 200 for the part, ebay sells used ones for 80-ish. Sometimes new ones show up on the bay as well.
I might suggest that you see what else is broken on the door so that you only have to tear it apart once.
The common problems are:
1) Door check (aka door stop)
2) window rail (clunking sound when closing the door?)
3) inner door handle (broken spring resulting in floppy handle)
4)inner panel unglued (as opposed to the vinyl separating, which is hopeless)
Remember to get 2 or 3 of the little plastic screw clips to hold the panel on, a few always get broken or lost.
