Default Is the Locktype Pin the same as the Radio Code

I have a 1998 s70 T5 and had to replace my instrument cluster. I found a used one from a car that had just a few more miles than my original and had the trip computer my T5 had. I thought the trip computer would just come on, on it's own (as my car had it and the one the new cluster was from had it too) but I found on a different thread that it needs to be "activated". To activate it I need the "locktype" Pin and volvo handheld scanner but I wondered if the locktype pin is the same as the 4 digit radio code or is that something completely different.

Thanks,
Kathy G
