Default Looking to upgrade my exhaust system, please help.

I am planning to replace the stock muffler from my 1998 Volvo s70 t5 with either a Borla muffler or a Magnaflow or anything for that matter. I am going for sound, I am looking for something that is really loud and that sounds good. Also if I can increase performance that would be a plus. Im seeking your advice to help me out finding a muffler for my car if you guys know any that arnt too expensive. Please help me out with either a part number or direct link to the product. All comments will be appreciated. Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks again volvo519.

Thanks fomr the replys, I was looking at the OBX originally, I was wondering how loud it was? and if I would run into any problems as getting any codes coming up. And that website charges almost 200$ for shipping to canada.

Have you tried over on Volvospeed ?? They might have a few threads on exhaust with clips of sounds.

Sorry, I am a newby here, and do not mean to hijack the thread, but I am as well considering upgrading my 98 S70 T5, but I am going for more power, quiet is fine (actually better). My question regarding the OBX is does it have a Hi-flow Cat?. I do not want to eliminate the Cat, but do not mind getting a Hi-flow along with the 3" downpipe. Yes as you guessed, I do have in mind a chip upgrade in the future. Thanks. I have learned a lot lurking over the years.

My OBX was cat less. I think that's the only way OBX makes them. I added a Magnaflow #54959 to mine.

Not sure if when you say "chip" you really mean physical chip but the better way to go is with a tune from ARD.

If you've been lurking on any of the Volvo sites you'll see they have the best reputation for bringing the power out of the engine.

Thanks. That Magnaflow is right within my budget. Where in the OBX string did you install it? Is it a DIY or should I go to my local muffler shop to do it?

Did you see any performance improvement with just the exhaust upgrade?
I went to the ARD site and it seems like a bunch of good guys.
Thanks for the tip.

I'm not good with stainless, I took it to a shop that does business with the company I worked for and the guy welded it in for free. The beer was a tip.

Can't say about the OBX by itself. I installed the system along with a 19T and "R" manifold. I was happy.
