My 2000 s70 glt-se with 165k has all of a sudden began to spew out oil from behind the timing belt cover. It basically empties most of the oil out in a couple of days....not even on the dipstick. there's oil all over the timing belt as well. any ideas?

 

Probably the crankshaft seal that has blown, what state id the PCV in on the car if this is blocked it will cause high pressure within the crankcase which can blow seals. With the engine running pull the dipstick out and does it puff much smoke out of the dipstick tube as this is a good sign of a blocked PCV - Mike

 

assuming the pcv valve is blocked, is there a way to decrease the oil flow, or is a blown seal a blown seal? also how much should this repair generally cost?
