Default Misfire and starting problem

Good afternoon,

I would like to know if someone can help me with my problem.
I have a Volvo S70 1998 non turbo it recently developed a misfire. I replaced the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor. After that it still had a misfire, I found that the camshaft sensor installation was deteriorated at the connection I replaced the sensor. The car still had a slight misfire yet drivable a day or so later the misfire became more prominent. I decided to change the old coil after doing so the car will turn over but will not fire. Can anybody give me an idea of what to do or point me in the right direction? I did put back the old coil but still the same thing. I did check I do have fire from the Coil and I have fire at the plugs. I do believe there is gas going to the cylinders I can smell it.

You could have a bad injector that would cause a misfire. You should do a compression test. Is the battery strong enough to start it?
