Default my car hates me

ok guys, i have a 1998 s70 glt with every problem common to these cars. when i bought it 2 months ago, it had the srs, abs, brake, and up arrow illuminated on the dash, and took off in a high gear sometimes. i did some research and found that i needed to clean the pnp switch and resolder the abs module. well, i first took the switch out, cleaned it up and reinstalled it hoping that it would fix the problem....no luck. i then removed the abs module and after opening it up, i realized that my eyes aren't as good as they once were....decided to send it off to midwest abs to have it resoldered. while the module was being fixed, i ordered a new volvo pnp switch, timing belt kit, and pcv kit. today i started working on everything. installed the abs module and took it for a test drive.....still have lights on dash and takes off in high gear. no problem i think, i'll replace the pnp switch and that'll fix it. nope. got it installed and set just right, took it for a test drive and still same old problems. now im at a loss of what to do next. the SEW button below the shifter won't go into sport or economy.....it stays in winter. should i replace this switch next?

You are describing what happens when it is in "W" mode. I'd change it.
And your car doesn't hate you. It's how an S70 keep you close.
