Default need 98 s70 strut info

Hey guys, I was wondering how to tell what I need to replace...
- How do I tell if I need to replace the spring seat, the strut mount or the strut itself?
What im trying to say is, what do I need to look/listen for to tell when each needs to be replaced.
- I alsodid a little research on this site and found a few threads that Tech wrote in and he said that when you turn the nut under the hood and it turns... it is bad, my drivers side turns although my passenger side is rubbery and wont turn. What exactly is the problem when this happens?

The problem with my car is it makes thunking sounds when I hit a imperfection in the road or when i make turns.

Thanks in advance.

When the nut turns the strut cap (spring seat is bad).
You could also have bad sway bar links. A broken spring seat will make a clunking nosie.

Alright then the spring seat is definitely bad, this would cause the same clunking sound when I am turning as well?

What would I look for in the sway bar to tell if its bad or not?

Sorry im not the most familiar with this kind of stuff, althoughI am learning.

If the end link is bad with the car in the air when you pulled on the sway bar you would feel the clunk and hear it as well.
Pull on the sway bar next to the end link.

In what case would I need to replace a strut mount... I know that I need to replace the spring seats and I also know that its best to replace it all at once but money is tight. So im just wondering what to look for when I NEED to replace the mount itself.

I asswume the mount you talk about is the bearing assembly.
Put it this way I have never had to change one due to it going bad.
