I need help everyone, the heater is on the fritz and it's getting mighty cold here in Ontario, Canada. Here's the skinny....

The car itself is a 98 non-turbo 5-speed. The heating system works, but at times it sounds like the blower is just blowing air at a wall. Normally when going full-tilt the blower produces a whistling type of sound and air flows freely from whichever vent you desire. Currently, there is severely restricted air flow and asforementioned, the air sounds like it's hitting a wall and the noise is more of a low growl than the desired whistle.

Any help would be helpfull...

I tried running the system without the cabin air filter but to no avail.

 

Maybe one of the blend doors is not moving correctly.

 

well...as it turns out i'm an idiot...i had the a/c running which was apparently freezing up the lines. now that it's off all is well...excuse me while i go slam my head off the wall for not thinking of this sooner.........
