Default Need some help !

Changing my bottom radiator hose I found a "J" shaped hose with a little plastic tube coming out of it, I don't know if it was just sitting there or if I knocked it off but I have no idea of where it came from or what it is and I can't post a picture right now, it's about 5 inches long and I found it next to the ecm (i think) and right around the center of the bottom hose on top. Any Ideas ?

This is likely the most confusing post I have read. The lower rad hose is not on the same side of the motor as the ECU. Upper, lower, J, tip???

Picture of video. You can also look at this video, maybe it will show you something.

on my s70 it was where your distributor cap is, I found it on top of the lower radiator hose.

Robert, it is not even a hose, its more like foam, shaped like a "J" with a small plastic line coming out of it. I tried finding it in the Haynes manual but no luck.

It was next to the throttle body, I was freezing and tired last night lol. I did run the car about 20 miles and no warning lights , the car runs great but that foam like hose still bugs me , it had to come from some where.

You'll need to post a picture of video of it somewhere and link it back here.

That is a tube that likely came off of the PCV system. The foam is actually insulation and the hard tube connects to the manifold, flame trap, or PTC, depending on what model car you have.

Is your car turbo? Has the PCV system been serviced lately?

No it's not a turbo. I know the flame trap was changed in the last year or so, should I worry about this ? Is they any pics of this I can find out where it goes or what I need to fix it ?

There is a good chance that it was a piece that was taken off and dropped in there. If you don't have a code, look around for a loose nipple. If you can't find one, just toss it.

OK, now after over 100 miles since I found that plastic line the CEL comes on with code PO420 , would this have anything to do with that hose/line ? The car still runs great and mpg is pretty good, no leaks or anything.

OK, I found where the plastic hose broke off, the broken piece is coming out of the tube between the air filter and the throttle body, I see the broken piece now I just need to know where is hooks up to.

I'm not sure, I'll have to look @ a car that is not turbo. Can you see a vacuum diagram under the hood?

Yes but I can't see that good, lol. I believe from poking around on the internet it is for the airbox thermostat and not a big deal, I doubt it would throw that PO420 code though. I reset the code and it has stayed off I'd bet thats the same one I had about a month ago but as long as the car runs good I am not going to bother with it until we get some half decent weather.

Well that plastic line has to be something with the PCV system, the tube that runs between the air filter box and the throttle control has a "Y" shaped hose that comes off of it on the bottom and plugs in that tube and then runs to the PCV system and the small busted line is the one I cant figure out where it goes.
