Default New with first volvo, 1998 s70

I am new, I just got my first volvo. I paid $800.00 for it, I think I got a good car, but it does have some issues. 1. Driver window was off track, I fix. 2. Runs rough, got tuneup kit, plugs, wires, filter, light still on. 3. Abs light is on. I checked the brake pads, they look new, and I cleaned the abs sender, light still on. I changed the MAF, light went out. Trans jerks when it changes gears, have no ideal what is going on with it, going to service, and change filter after engine is service. The car looks very good in and out for its age.

Ok, what do I need to do first, and should I do it. I have very little maintenance knowledge, with few tools and money.

I used my ipad to do this post, very hard.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You may want to start by looking at the NEW 850 OWNER thread in the 850 section.

2. Could be a lot of things, maybe you got it with the MAF change.

3. ABS, you likely need a replacement ABS module. Try http://www.MidWest-ABS.com. The link in is my signature.

4. Hard shifting is likely a bad/worn lower transmission mount. You likely have bad motor mounts as well.

Thank you so much. Will a abs mod from the junk yard be a good ideal, before I go and buy or do a replacement?. I know it is a change I will have to take. Is the motor mount hard to change?

This ABS module failure is so common, there is a good chance the ones in the jy are also bad. Most junk yards will give you a warranty but because that stuff is fragile I wouldn't suggest swapping several in and out. Just get a rebuilt one from MidWest.

Motor mount has 3 bolts and takes about 10 minutes max.

Its not too much for the rebuilt module from midwest ABS. I got mine quickly in the mail and have had no problems with it.
