hi, ive got a 99 AWD auto 2.4 s70 and i want to put a bigger/better turbo in my volvo. its got the factory turbo in it right now, so i was wonderng what kind or model i should get, and where i could get it.

1. Your currently running a 13g with an angle outlet flange.

2. What kind of power are you looking for? That will determine your turbo and other things.

If you don't want to go too too big I suggest 16T.18T or 19T which are all Volvo turbos.

Also when you upgrade your turbo you better upgrade your downpipe, catback and ECU.

 

sorry mistachins, i don't want to steal your thread, but i also have a 99 s70 awd, and i was wondering if i could just tighten the spring in the waistgate to increase boost, what do you think, s70driver?

 

No I don't suggest it. Not safe, not recommended. Get an ECU upgrade instead. Safer and better for your car.

Get what kits?

If your talking about the turbo, downpipe,catback and ECU you'll have to piece them together.

2. Might be able to find a junked Volvo with a 16T at a junkyard.

3. Viva Performance sells the 16T,18T and 19T turbos. For pretty penny I might add.

IPD USA has what they call a STAGE III system, it includes a lot of things including I think an 18T turbo. Now some of the parts wont fit your car so talk to them about what parts they have that will for your car.

EuroSportTuning (EST), they also have a few kits. But minus the turbo and a few other parts. Check them out too.

 

will those same turbo's be compatable with a 98 s70? im also looking to BIG turbo my car. i started a construction job and want to hussle my car with the little ricers arround here. i have a ecu downpipe test pipe, straight back,built a cold air intake,MBC, i have a front mount on the way, next step is a high lift cam any idea? i want to find somwhere that makes performance heads for my car too.

 

Yes your car can. Be sure to get the same flange turbo though. Straight for straight, angled for angled. You will need an ECU upgrade again to remap for the turbo upgrade.

No one makes performance cams for the newer Volvo's it would all be custom done.

Also we don't have headers. We have intake and exhuast manifolds. You could buy the s60R exhaust manifold and or port and polish yours intake and exhaust manifolds.

 

Damn I dont know what kind of ricers you have near you, but a 16t turbo and the other stuff you have along with a tune from speed tuning should give you around 275hp and 410 pounds of torque - which is faster than a 2005 wrx (not wrx sti edition which has 300hp) My car stock was doing in acuras and most civics, and I beat a wrx off the line but it quickly owned me.

 

theres alot of ricers that are into it, little chinease guys with there wrx's that are all sti's alot of my buddies are audi and LS1 guys so i need to hang with them lol. but yea basicly any N/Acar thats not a big block chevy i tear apart.

and i mean cylinder heads, not head pipes. i know people make big domed heads for audi's and v'dubs how about us?

We don't have headers if that is what you are talking about.

We have manifolds.

 

ohhh kay cylinder heads.... with springs valves and retainers. intake ports, exhaust ports, where your spark plug goes... not head pipes its not a heavyrunnin chevy.

 

You would have to custom do any of that work.
