Hi to all, I have a 98 S70 that does not heat up in the morning. The temp gauge barely goes above the bottom. I drive 25 miles to work and it increases slightly. When it is time to come home everything seems to work perfectly. Lately we have experienced temperatures in the teens, could that be a factor? Any help is appreciated.

 

I would have to say the thermostat is bad.

 

Eventhough it doesn't overheat? I have to change the timing belt, so I might as well take care of the thermostat at that time.

 

Yes they break and cause problems.

 

Thanks for the heads up, you are indeed the man. I removed the thermostat housing and the thermostat was in pieces. I replaced it and the gasket, 10 minutes and I have heat again. Good looking out.
