Default oil in my coolant

I have a 98 s70 glt. I got oil in my coolant. Are there any other possible causes than the headgasket? any opinions are accepted.

The transmission cooler might have broke in the radiator.

What Tech said... or the engine oil cooler in the radiator. This happened to mine shortly after I bought it. It's a BITCH to get all the oil out of the cooling system, too... it will take multiple flushes, and because the oil will weaken them, you'll want to change the hoses, as well. And replace the reservoir, because the oil will probably permanently stain it to where you can't see inside.

If your a DIY guy - Get the Haynes manual for abou $20 Rent a vacuum gage and compression gage from your local parts store and follow the instructions in Haynes manual for compression check and vacuum check. Get a friend to help crank the engine while you run a compression check. This should help you determine if you have a blown headgasket.

turns out I'm a DIY guy. I jumped ship to fast and pulled my head off before asking your guys advice. my head gasket was in very good condition, It probably was the oil cooler. what's done is done, so I took the opertunity to do timiming belt , pump, tensioner, machine the head, change valve seels, cleen intake/throtle body, replace pcv system, new radiator, upgrade turbo, full tune up and ofcourse a coolant flush. since I did it myself it only set me back 770 bucks with oem parts. Car runs like a champ!!!! By the way, for the last coment a comression test doesn't tell you if you need a head gasket.

Oops... well, at least you have a nice happy engine. And actually, a compression test CAN help pinpoint a bad head gasket if the gasket is blown, say, between 2 cylinders or between a cylinder and a coolant passage.
