P0455 check engine

P0455 check engine
I first noticed something wrong when my A/C didn't seem to work (no cool air). I turned it off then 10mins later turned it on and it seemed to work again.
Next thing I noticed check engine light turns one I get P0455. I've looked at mutable threads on the problem so I got some ideas what to look for.
What I want to know is can I still use my car to get to work and college without having to worry about my car?
When I hooked my car up to get the code it said "gross leak no" does that mean its not big?

If you have oil in the motor, coolant in the system and your car is NOT on fire, probably safe to keep driving it. Over heating is never good and neither is a slipping transmission. People drive these cars for years with a CEL on. I think you'll fe fine.
It sounds like you have a vacuum line loose/torn/broken. Try to find and fix it but it's no big deal.

Man, Volvo's have an awsome braking system. Have you ever heard of a Volvo loosing their brakes? I don't think so. They have a double tri system that operates both front calipers and one rear caliper on each system. You can totally loose one system and still have 75% of your ability to stop.
Besides, I doubt the braking system will pop a P0455 code.

Back to the brake system. Prime example of Volvo braking. I purchased a S70 that hasn't been started for probably 2 years. The last valid stickers on the car are 2009. I pushed the car from the street and into my driveway, pushed on the brakes and the car stopped. Moved it several times, pushing on the brakes to stop the car, no problem.
I got a Nissan Maxima home today, stickers on it says 2010 (tag). Pushed it off the street, just before I hit my driveway I hit the brakes, NOTHING!!! THE CAR IS GAINING SPEED, NO LUCK WITH THE BRAKES PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, NOTHING!!! I'm tired as hell from swapping struts for 8 hours and the car is now in the driveway and gaining a little speed, no luck with brakes. I have 2 Volvo's on the passenger side, not going to hit those, don't want to drive through my garage - water heater - and into kitchen. So I start to aim for the brick wall at my garage enterance. Do I really want to hit the house with this thing, don't know how much CHOISE I HAVE. A second later I think, maybe the yard will slow the car down and stop it. Into the grass toward the front door and front bedoom, the car is slowing, it stops just before it enter the Azaleas. Phew!!! Another reason to stick with Volvo's.
