We recently bought a 99 S70 and it is now doing something weird!

We had the dealer re-program the recalled Throttle Module and was fine for a while. Problem comes and goes. Was just out of time for getting a new one.

Please let me know if you know what this is.

Symptoms:

* Odometer goes to all zeros
* Speedometer drops to zero
* Brake light comes on (not park brake)
* Check engine light also on but always on
* Will hardly accelerate
* Feels like punching it but holding the park brake so barely goes

Might be a bad ABS.

 

Oh yea, ABS light comes on at the same time.

Can I just disable the ABS? How, pull fuse?

If so, will it pass inspection with that out?

Any other fix?

Could a bad ABS module cause these symptoms? Seems more like an ETM issue to me???

At least pull the codes and see what that tells you...

 

If it was just the ETM the speedo and odometer would not drop off.

 

Thanks for the replys. About to take it to Volvo next week I hope. It is getting worse now. I had Auto Zone pull the codes a little bit back and several were the ETM. I'll look into the cheaper option posted here. Thanks,
