I am thinking about selling my 99 S80 2.9 and buying a nice S70.

I have heard that the 99 to 00 S70's are probromatic because of the ETM or ETS issues and that they had some problems with the AC evaporaters. I am a little confused about that.

Isn,t a 99 or 00 S70 supposed to be the same as the 98 S70 mechanically wise excluding the ETM or ETS issues and the AC evaporaters problems. And also is there a reason on why the AC evaporaters are bad on the 99-00 models and not bad on the 98 models.

But I would like to know If you exclude both off those things (the ETM or ETS throttle body and the AC evaporaters, are there any other mechcanically issues about the 99-00 S70.

Like would you consider them being bad cars.

Because the reason im selling my S80 is that I have heard that people have had transmision problems with them and many electrical and engine problems as well so I do not want to take any chances just to be safe.

So at least the 99-00 S70's do that have major problems like the transmission engine or electrical right.

So I just want to know if the 99-00 S70's are considered bad cars mechanically wise like the Transmission, Engine, suspension and Electrical componets if you Exclude the ETM or ETS issues. And do they have the same engine, transmission, suspension and electrical componets compared to the 98 S70's

So basically I would like know if the 99-00 S70's are really considered that bad compared to the 98 models.

Yes the ETM is an issue. It will cost around $1k to fix and ONLY Volvo can do it. ETS is the idiot light that will come on the dash board when the ETM goes bad.

As for the A/C, I haven't had any problems with it to my knowledge.

Other then that it is a great car. I love it.
