My antenna is making the sound like it is going up and down, and sometimes it moves a little, but it isnt working like it should. If I shut off the car, get out, and give the antenna a push, sometimes it will go down. Sometimes it takes more of a push than other times and lately it seems to be getting harder. If I dont push it, it still sounds like its working but it usually wont move. The sound it makes isnt any different when working properly. Time for a new antenna or can this one be cleaned and lubed? Thanks!

 

Cleaning it may help, but most likely you're due for a new mast. Even then you may need a new gear inside the motor assembly as well.

 

9 Times out of 10 you can replace the mass and be fine. It cost about $15 on FCP. You may also want to check the antenna switch write-up in the 850 section. You can cut the antenna off so it doesn't go up and down when you don't need it.
