i just got an S70 base still has the stock radio in it. and at night it does not light up just the screen is illuminated. also the shifter base with the PRND2L do not light up at night either.. i tried to get the trim around it off but no luck how do i remove the tirm to replace the bulb and whats wrong with my radio not lighting up?

 

I have a similar problem. The only thing different is the station window is out and the other buttons are working. I just purchased an '98 S70 GLT used and am finding out these little quirks are getting annoying.

 

replacing the shift light isn't that bad... in the center console there are 2 torx screws under a cover, just take those out and then everything else can be snapped out of place. as for the radio... i don't know.

 

well i actually dont need this anymore cause i got a different s70, i got a better one a 98 s70 GLT and every light works just to make sure.. are the sport econ and winter buttons below the shifter are those suppose to light up or no? the little LED on each one does but not the letter itself thats the only thing that i am questioning.

 

The weird thing is that the radio screen that shows the station number is legible but no light and the top half buttons are amber color, while the bottom half is still greenish..

 

not sure.... mine doesn't have those buttons. i have a W button and that does not light up (and there is no bulb to replace, so it wasn't meant to)

 

oh ok yea i didnt think they were suppose to.
