REAR BRAKE PADS
HEY, JUST PUT NEW ROTORS AND PADS ON THE FRONT OF MY 2000 S70. WHEN I TOOK THE REAR WHEEL OFF TO REPLACE THOSE PADS I WAS LIKE "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?" I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START. IS THERE A GOOD POST OR EVEN A WEBSITE THAT EXPLAINS THIS IN DETAIL? I TRIED TO GOOGLE IT BUT FOUND NOTHING. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU.

RE: REAR BRAKE PADS
I think there might be different brake types on different models - anyway, I've just done mine today front and back. The back brakes have two pins holding the pads in - knock these out with a hammer and pin punch, and take out the retaining spring. Remove the pads by prising out with a screwdriver. Once the old pads have been removed, remove thefluid resevoir cap, and then push the pistons back with some kind of lever - the back brakes are double acting so there are two pistons, one acting on each pad. You may have to prise one piston back at a time - fit the new pad (and anti-squeal plate if using); prise back the other piston and fit the second pad. Put the retaining spring back on and refit the retaining springs.Replace the resevoir cap when both wheels are done. Start the car andpump the brake pedal a few times make sure the pistons come up to the pads before you take her for a drive. easy enough job - good luck with it.
